Streams of warm impermanence at DRAF gallery.
I like going to opening nights. In a group or alone. Agnes Martin said when she is alone the world speaks to her. I can relate to that and rarely tired of solitude. The only disadvantage of being on your own is people's reaction that leads to a slight awkwardness. I don't smoke. So to stay at this show for a bit longer I'm sharing this.
Understanding all art is easy. You just need to know a little bit about it. And to be curious. The brain builds connections and associations very quickly, giving us some valuable connotations of life we can not get anywhere else.
I believe art is produced for only two reasons: out of love and out of hate. I saw both at this exhibition and enjoyed them equally.
The artists worth researching are Justin Fitzepatrick, Donna Huanca, Issy Wood, Renete Bertlmann. I don't know how it's happening, but as soon as you decide to produce an artwork showing let's say a clock in a brain, you go to a show and see it being produced by someone else. Sometimes it's been produced in the 70s.
People at the art shows gather around free alcohol. Always.
